TERMS & CONDITIONS
Delivery and Collection: We recommend that Wedding cakes are delivered and set up by ourselves, and subject to a minimum order of £270 this is included in our wedding service for all addresses within 10 miles of LA9 5RA. Cost per mile will be charged for delivery to an order less than £270 or to a venue a further and set up can be arranged for Wedding cakes only. This is free for all addresses within 10 miles of LA9 5RA. Cost of per mile will be charged for delivery a venue a further distance than 10 miles from LA9 5RA
Set up at Wedding Venue: Please ensure arrangements are made for the cake table, table linen, cake stand (if not hired from us), cutting knife and any other cake table decorations. We will make every effort to ensure you cake is presented in the best possible way but we cannot be held responsible for the stability or levelness of the table on which the cake is displayed. Please ensure that the cake table is level, stable and strong enough (Wedding cakes with several tiers can be very heavy!)
Once the cake has been collected or delivered and set up, The Little Kendal Cakery cannot be held responsible for any interference or damage to the cake. All cakes should be signed for upon delivery/collection by a responsible person i.e. a member of the wedding party or a hotel manager.
Non-edible items: Some items on your cake may be non-edible, for example figures contain supports, dowels, cake pillars, wires or jewels. These items will be listed on your cake information sheet.
Cake Stand Hire: Cake stands are available to hire for a small charge. An £80 damages deposit is payable for all cake stands which will be refunded once the stand is returned in its original condition. Stands must be returned within 5 days of the wedding. In some circumstances it may be possible for The Little Kendal Cakery to collect a stand from your reception venue with a fee for time and fuel costs deducted from the deposit.
Storage: Cakes should not be refrigerated unless stated on your cake information sheet, as this adversely affects the icing and cake quality.
Allergies: Please be aware that although your chosen cake can be made without nuts, gluten or other allergens, it cannot be guaranteed as completely allergen free as it will be prepared in a kitchen in which those allergens may be present. The Little Kendal Cakery accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes.
Payments and Deposits: A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of £100 is required to secure your cake order and chosen date. Deposits must be made within 2 weeks of receiving your quote otherwise your chosen date may be lost. Cheques are accepted for deposit payments only, payment of the final balance should be BACS transfer, cash or credit/debit card. Payment of the final balance on your wedding cake is due no later than 1 month (31 days) before collection/delivery.
Designs: Cake designs are the result of the information given to The Little Kendal Cakery by the customer. The interpretation of customer’s bespoke requirements and amends to the design are approved by the customer during the order process; written/verbal descriptions and a diagram will be used to explain what the customer will receive. The Little Kendal Cakery will do its best to match any colour request for icing/ribbons but we cannot guarantee an exact Pantone match as colours represent differently in different materials. We aim for a perfect match but this is not always possible.
Alterations: Any alterations you wish to make to your confirmed, ordered cake design must be requested via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We cannot guarantee that alterations can be made within 1 month (31 days) of your wedding date. If an alteration affects the cost your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Cancellation by the customer: If the order is cancelled, your deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel your order within 6 weeks of your wedding date 75% of the full payment will be invoiced. This is to cover monies lost as The Little Kendal Cakery will be unlikely to refill the date at short notice. If you cancel within 7 days of your wedding date full payment will be invoiced.
Cancellation by The Little Kendal Cakery: We shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our reasonable control including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike whatsoever. In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, The Little Kendal Cakery will give as much notice as possible if we are unable to fulfil your order. We will endeavour to find another cake designer who can make your cake and will refund you any monies already paid.
Complaints: The wedding cake must be checked on delivery/collection by a responsible person (member of wedding party / venue manager).
The Little Kendal Cakery will provide a photograph as proof that the cake has arrived in perfect condition. Cakes that are collected from our home address must be checked by the customer and by collecting the cake and removing it from address you are consenting that is has been collected in perfect condition.
The Little Kendal Cakery accepts no liability for cakes that are damaged after collection/delivery. We will make every effort to repair the cake depending on availability, but the repairs will be charged for.
Refunds are only given in exceptional circumstances as deemed appropriate by the The Little Kendal Cakery. The maximum refund we offer is the value of the cake and delivery charges (if applicable). Further compensation is not available.
